With a sub-tropical climate and warm ocean waters, the beautiful coastal towns along the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal transport visitors from the bustle of every day life to a world of quiet tranquility… But don’t let our sleepy town atmosphere fool you into thinking long walks on beautiful golden beaches are your only option for things to do (although we think it’s a very, very good option!); the area has a host of adventures for visitors to enjoy when they are out and about!
The small town of Pennington, where our magnificent villas are situated, boasts one of the finest remaining protected coastal forests abundant with birdlife. Quiet pristine beaches, magnificent bays and safe tidal pools make Pennington a truly idyllic destination perfect for unwinding and relaxing. Pennington is also home to Selborne Park Golf Estate and Umdoni Golf Estate where a round of golf comes complete with bird and small wildlife watching and some incredible ocean views.
The warm waters boast a rich blend of fish species. Because of this aspect, it has given rise to a large sport fishing community. This beautiful area offers a large number of trophy barricuda, garrick, sharks and salmon. The annual ‘Couta Classic’ is held annually in Pennington over the Easter weekend and attracts hundreds of fisherman from all over the country to participate in one of the largest fishing competitions in Kwazulu Natal.
One town up the coast line, a short 10 minute drive away, lies the slightly bigger town of Scottburgh. Here visitors can find a choice of fun and exciting activities to while the hours away with from incredible Spa treatments or a day of shopping to Scuba Diving, Shark Cage Diving, Deep Sea Fishing or a day at CrocWorld Conservation Centre…
Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat to simply relax and unwind or a holiday filled with adventure sports and activities, the South Coast is the place to be!
